Nonito Donaire is the sh*t + failed attempt at sporty dressing

Did you watch how Nonito Donaire box the life out of Martinez? Ok, I'm exaggerating but Martinez got hit HARD!! It was my first time to watch a live boxing match and I super enjoyed it.. Plus both Brian Villoria and Nonito Donaire won!! Yey! Times like these makes me more proud of being Filipino..=)

I'm so glad my dad borrowed my boxing gloves a few months ago (YES THE PINK ONE I posted earlier here!! haha) because he saw Donaire at the boxing gym and yey for me I have a signed Donaire gloves..

(Bayo vest, Forever 21 tank, bayo pants, Crossings heels, Louis Vuitton bag)

Earlier that day I wanted to wear something sporty.. Not hardcore sporty but just some sporty inspired outfit but I didn't manage to find anything in my closet so I settled with a jersey tank and a colorful vest with Red and Blue.. I have always associated Red and blue with boxing because those are the most common color of shorts and gloves I see.. =)

After the match, my whole family went to eat at a Japanese Restaurant named Sachi located around Araneta Coliseum.. If you're from Manila try it they have the BEST SALMON SASHIMI!!! Then my siblings and I went to Cubao X (formerly known as Marikina Shoe Expo).. Cubao X is an old street with thrift stores, Italian restaurant, shoe store, art gallery, dance studio, sari-sari store (smally grocery store) etc..

I will do a post about Cubao X tomorrow because that place is like a chaotic treasure chest, so much to discover. I am not kidding.. I will post lots of pics tomorrow plus our random shopping loot..

I wish I could say that I made this too

But I did not..=P
(Dress: People are People; Necklace: Madhuri Hemandas; Shoes: Celine; Bag: Louis Vuitton)
My necklace is from Madhuri Hemandas (she is an Indian designer based here in Manila). How I wish I could design and do beadworks as intricate as this. I first saw this necklace last year in an editorial in a local magazine it was made to order so I texted her immediately and after about a month it's mine!!=) I love how it looks rich, dramatic and unique since it's made to order! It truly amps up my blue dress which I bought from People are People during one of the sale season for only 500 pesos ($10).. I can't believe that a 500 peso dress can have this complex detail..The dress is so versatile because it has ruching at the bottom which you can morph into different looks..
The shoes are from a local stored called Celine which I got on sale for 700 pesos ($14)
Yeah yeah I'm such a sucker for items on sale.. Hehe..
I am loving the pseudo-wooden heel!!
Very YSL!=)

COMPARE THE HEM
Notice that the hem looks different right? You would almost think that it's a different dress..
Talkin' about versatility!

(Striped cardigan: Rustan's; Dress: People are People; Shoes: Zara)
Wore this last year when we watched the gig of my med school friends..

By the way. today is my sister's graduation. We didn't attend the ceremonies because they only allotted each student 2 tickets and those are for my parents. So we just ate at a Spanish restaurant afterwards.. The food was great and they had singers singing in Spanish but sounds very much like a Filipino kundiman (old Filipino love songs)!

Sorry I do not know what happened but there seems to be a huge space here which I can not remove.. keep on scrolling down for older posts!=)

Sneakpeek: DIY Chain Necklace

Yey I'm officially done with my clearance!!!=) I've passed all the requirements and paperworks for graduation.. I'm done with running around the hospital looking for residents and consultants.. EXHAUSTING is an understatement!!

So now on to more serious matters..=P

Presenting my impending DIY Chain necklace:

I still have to go to the fabric shop for the hooks and some black satin.. Planning to add some pearl strands for some girly touch.. I'm excited I hope I finish it before graduation.. I'm planning to buy a non-embellished, non-beaded aka PLAIN dress so I could wear this..
Wish me luck!

DIY Balmain x Everlast Dress

(Black People are People sequined dress; Pink Everlast boxing wraps)

I was looking at my inspiration folder for my graduation ball because I will be meeting with the seamstress later for my gradball gown.. I showed this picture of JRR to my sister and we decided to try it ourselves!! I just want to see what the dress might look like on me and me likeeyyyy!!!

We used a sequined People are People dress and Everlast Boxing wraps.. It was fun! No sewing machine required!!=P

Sporty Spice?

When Spice Girls first came out when I was in sixth grade, I wanted to be Baby Spice. After a few years I switched to Posh spice and I so loooooove her until now.. Just from my choice of Spice Girl you would know that I am not a sporty person. I do not even know how to ride a bike or swim! But today I took up a new sport (actually it's my first sport!) -- BOXING!! I have been planning to try boxing a long time ago but my busy schedule at school did not permit me to do so but now that I'm on vacation I finally tried it and I LOVED IT!! That speed ball is addicting and frustrating at the same time haha..=)
If Baby Spice went boxing she would've picked those gloves too, right?
(Puma gym bag is a gift from BF's parents =) Everlast gloves from my Dad and wraps from Elorde gym)
so nag-fifeeling haha!

haha.. only for the camera =p

After boxing, went to hear mass then had a short camwhore session with my sister at home..

(F21 top; resurrected from the dead Bongo jeans that I bought 6 years ago, SM dept store shoes)

I have been wearing these burned out shirts from Forever 21 because they are very light and I seriously can't wear anything thicker because the summer heat is killing me! I can't even wear my beloved stacks of bangles because it will only add up to the stickiness... hmmmppphh..

I wish I was on some beach with this heat then it would've been perfect!

Yesterday was also burned out day:

(F21 top; bazaar shorts; old blue platforms; LV bag; earrings from Rockwell bazaar; Folded and Hung sunglasses)

$8 Forever 21 Jumpsuit

(forever 21 jumpsuit shoes:from DSW cuff:foldedandhung bag:Louis Vuitton)
with my all checked-out sister/camwhore partner!=P

Went to Fantasy World with my sisters, cousins, nieces and the BF.. The kids went swimming while the grown-ups camwhored and played a little table tennis.. We were supposed to play bowling but everyone got pretty lazy..=p

I got this jumpsuit from Forever 21 2 months ago during my SF vacation.. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price $7.99!! I got so excited because the jumpsuit is so NOW and yet they've marked it down already!! Oh Forever 21 how I love thee! It kind of has a pajama feel to it which i like, very lounge-y.. The shoes I got on sale too from the bargain basement of DSW for $32.. I like it because it has strip of faux-leopard print, girrafe print, stingray print and I don't know the rest hahaha.. the studded cuff is from folded and hung which I got for around 200 pesos.

Why doesn't the Topshop in Manila look like this?

Topshop opened their New York store the other day (April 2).. Wow! Look at the shoe selection they have! Here in Manila, they only have cute flats and some sandals.. Plus, the fitting rooms look like an interior of a posh hotel..

Another reason why I want to visit NY!

These made me smile =)

I saw the 1st video yesterday on TV and it has been on my mind ever since.. It is so cute!! The next one is an older Coke ad I found on youtube while trying to find the 1st video.. Both are very cute the first one has a very "a bug's life" feel to it, don't you think?

Tom Binns-ish

So I'm done with my 4th year in Med school. Done with being a monitoring machine.. Yes, I have mastered the perfect art of applying the BP cuff on the patient's arm! Because almost everyday for 1 year I did that.. but aside from that I learned a whole lot more and had a very fun year!

I have a few days to fix last minute graduation paper works.. then off to other things more important like DIY accessories!! I'm thinking Tom Binns-ish this time because I absolutely adore his jewelry!! When I saw this necklace in the magazine it was love at first sight! As soon as I buy new pliers (mine is quite rusty already) I will start making my own chunky necklace.. I hope I can finish it..=) It will be my I'm-done-with-medschool-necklace!
