November-December

To commemorate the first day of my Surgery rotation, I'm sharing you gorgeous post-op editorials. No pain, no gain at its finest! I'm so happy I'm back at the Surgery rotation again, I'll be spending 2 months yey! The only thing that sucks is that I'm duty on ALL the upcoming holidays..=( But anyway, surgery is one of my favorite rotations along with ENT and Ophtha. This is one of the "funnest" rotations ever! The residents are super cool and you know me I LOVE to sew! Whether it be clothing or human skin..=P

In the perfect world, patients would look this painfully chic but in my real world the usual scene in the Emergency Room are motorcycle accident with their messed up faces, stabwounds and gunshots. I'm actually expecting a lot of gunshot/stabwounds tonight because today is a national holiday in the Philippines.

So no work + drunk men = not a good picture..=P
Team shirt; Pants from Folded & Hung; Wedges from DSW; sunglasses People are people

Here's a sneak peek from our interns' outing, will post more of my outfit pics tom as I haven't gotten pictures from my facebook friends yet..=) I'm not wearing an orange shirt by choice, this is actually our team shirt that I've come to love.
To say that it was super fun is an understatement..

Hi Deer!

With no make-up..=)
The antlers are my favorite part of the necklace
Asymmetric cotton dress: 101 NewYork; Renegade Folk shoes; LV Bag; Folded & Hung necklace

You know the drill. My brother doesn't know the concept of outfit picture so my shoes are cut off in almost all the pics! hehe.. He's still the best diamond peel partner though! The brother and I are diamond peel facial partners-in-crime. Sister 1 is obsessed with tanning so she doesn't want her face constantly scraped while sister 2 has super sensitive skin and her face can't tolerate the procedure.

This was taken during the weekend, it was especially hot and humid that day so I wore something really light and "un-clingy". I like this dress because the fabric is light and design is simple but not boring because the asymmetric hem gives it a little bit of drama!

I'm going on an out-of-town trip on Thursday with these crazies!=)
It is our official interns' outing. All of us are excused from our hospital duties, so fun!! I'm so excited because there'll be some games, watersports and a blue-themed party at night! Aaaaahhhh and I can't wait to play TONG-ITS (card games) with Caps and Nsh!
Camwhoring galore yey!!=)

Twilight fans please answer!=) + wearing my DIY necklaces

Follow me on twitter!
I try to avoid wearing head-to-toe trendy pieces so I always add something classic/non-trendy in my outfits. In this case, I wore my classic Zara pumps and chose my LV Reade bag which has a simple structured shape with my oversized white shirt+big necklace look.
Shirt from Bench; Topshop Jeans; DIY necklaces; Louis Vuitton Bag; Zara shoes
I'm wearing my favorite jeans from Topshop.
I can't believe I've been wearing it for 6 years haha
the crotch area is so distressed already!
hihi that's not my panty you see, ha!
Raise your hand (or comment!) if you're excited for New Moon!!
I'm super excited,I even made an opening day counter at tickerfactory but
I couldn't figure out how to post it here so my efforts were wasted, so frustrating.

I just want to know how many of you out there are Twilight obsessed like me and my siblings..
Are you Team Jacob or Team Edward?

Actually, I myself can not say that I'm 100% Jacob or 100% Edward because they both have endearing qualities and charm. But when I was reading New Moon I was kind of 75% Jacob and 25% Edward because Jacob's vibe was light & playful. Very "buddy" vibe, which I like. But in general, I'm still Team Edward, of course..=) I'm all for KILIG (giddy) moments and cheesy lines!!

The only person I didn't like so much in New Moon is BELLA!
Ang arte arte niya! (So dramatic!)
Or maybe I'm just jealous? hehe

This was supposed to be posted 2 days ago to mark my 1 month anticipation for the opening of Twilight Saga NEW MOON but my sister brought her camera to her dorm so I only got the pics today.. This was taken last week when we went to the mall for frozen yogurt and I chanced upon these huge posters near the cinema.

11.20.09
I can't wait. I hope I'm not duty that day.

3B's: Blazer, Bazaar and Busog!

Hello blazer, long time no wear! I'm Mads, your master hahaha..
The last time I wore this was during my trip to SF last Feb '09 and I actually forgot I had this.

I'm so happy that we are reunited again..=P
Blazer: The black shop; knitted vest: Forever 21; 100 peso bazaar shorts; SM dept store shoes;
Louis Vuitton Speedy; My DIY necklace; Leopard cuff from Cubao X
My family and I ate dinner at Sentro 1771 yesterday. The restaurant specializes in contemporary Filipino cuisine. I LOVED the food so much that I brought home the leftover cornedbeef sinigang and I had them for breakfast this morning!

These are my favorites:

Us 3. Sister 2 was MIA since it's exam week. You know me, I'm picnik crazy.
Tried the halloween theme this time.

We also ate yummy cupcakes from Cupcakes by Sonja which was just across Sentro.
nyum nyum nyum
After dinner, we stopped by Rockwell's Moonlit Bazaar and I scored this vintage Casio watch from the 70's. At first I was doubtful of its "vintage-icity" but when I showed it to my Dad, he said that he had the exact watch when he was in college. So yey I'm so happy with my great find, it has the normal analog arms and a digital display too. I have a thing for "pang-tatay looking" watches. I like watches that look like it doesn't belong to me that's why I always borrow the BF's watch too.
My newest eye candies:
Bangles from a booth selling accessories from India and this super cool flag coin purse.

BTW, BUSOG means full/stuffed = ME! =)

Quick quick

Still full from last night's food fest.
Full post later.=)

Oh crap

I have vampiric eyes again!! Edward Cullen, where are you?=P
Old Romper from Folded and Hung; Renegade Folk shoes; Louis Vuitton bag

You might have noticed my pictures alternate from crappy to nice shots. Crappy quality shots = my 2 sisters are not with me (no DSLR camera and no patient photographers). I seriously want an SLR too, last year I didn't think I would want one so I bought myself Chanel earrings and lots of pretty things from downtown SF instead of a camera. haha. But now me thinks I want one too! I'm currently crushing on a Canon 500D.

Went karaoke (or VIDEOKE in Filipino =P) last night. Fun night, sang songs from the Beatles, Eraserheads and a bunch of old cheesy Filipino songs! ER duty later then I have Sunday off tomorrow yey!! Might go to a bazaar and shop a little..

And oh, 70 followers! Thank you very much for following me I super appreciate it!=)

DIY Necklace: Pretty and Punk

Black stones whatever and neon pink string - from Carolina's fabric store

In lieu of the White Tank DIY, I tweaked a necklace that I bought from Carolina's (I don't even know if it's a necklace because it didn't have chains and there was no way to wear it). I bought neon pink strings and doubled knotted it into each space. Took me around 10-15 minutes of twisting and knotting. I like how it kinda looks a bit rock and roll but girly and classic at the same time..=) Such a versatile piece, can't wait to wear it!

I actually tried doing the White Tank DIY last night but my scissors weren't sharp enough and the lace got snagged..=( Plus, my patience ran out and I got sleepy haha.. So I'll probably do it on the weekend when I'm home.

In case you want to see more of my other DIY, just click these links:

OK, back to studying... Biochemistry here I come!=)

WHERE I'M FROM, EVERYONE'S A HERO

Never been fond of the patriotic shirts that are quite rampant lately. But when I saw this shirt, I changed my mind. I so want this!
Its patriotism is subtle and the text is very substantial and I love the stark design too.
I can't wait to rock mine!
Order yours at markgosingtian.tumblr.com
Part of the proceeds will be given to Typhoon Ondoy victims.

Speaking of heroes, please watch this video and vote for Efren Penaflorida. He is nominated for CNN TOP HEROES OF 2009.

He organized a tutorial group who teach poor kids every Saturday using a pushcart with simple visual aids. They teach Language, Math and personal hygiene. Since 1997, 10,000 teenagers have joined Efren's group and tutored 1500 children. Please vote for him. It would take around 2 minutes of your time.

Here comes the sun

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

-Here Comes the Sun, The Beatles

I'm not much of T-shirt person but I am such a Beatles person. ha! (is there such a phrase?)
The Daddy and the brother are Beatles crazy and the craze eventually rubbed off on all of us.
So when I saw this shirt in Surplus a month ago I knew I had to get it.
Love its unique print and for 250 pesos, what's there not to love?

Vintage looking Beatles shirt from Surplus shop, skirt from SM, Belt from Forever 21, Stella McCartney knock-offs from Renegade Folk

Pic ala Jak and Jil =P
For the first time in a few weeks, I felt the heat of the sun again! It was quite scorching but I'm not complaining because
the hotter it is the faster the flood waters will dry up. Hope they do so really soon!
Especially to those in the Northern Luzon areas.

The verses above are from the Beatles (my favorite band!) song "Here comes the sun".
I feel like the lyrics are so fitting with the current situation in our country.
Except that we didn't have a cold lonely winter instead we had a cold and lonely typhoon/flooded season.

I'm posting an outfit pic of my sister/photographer too!
When I saw her dress I blurted out, "That looks kinda A.Wang, Spring 2010!".
She answered, "Oh really? I got it for 60 pesos (less than$2) sa ukay ukay" (thrift shop).
Me: "Pahiram ako next time ah!" (I'm gonna borrow that next time)

Dress: thrifted; Bag: Louis Vuitton; Scarf: Coach; Havaianas flipflops; YRYS leopard bangle;
Rubber band used as bracelet from National Bookstore;

style.com

Last na lang, I saw this super cute Beatles action figure (?) at Clipper's last week. Super cute I wanted to get all four and give 1 each to my siblings pero Mahalia Mendez (expensive) almost a thousand each.. Nyek wag na lang (never mind) maybe next time!=)

Enjoy your weekend! I sure am enjoying mine.
A bit too much because I woke up too late for my Sunday duty.
Haha at least I have 1 more free day.=P

Sushi anyone?

"This sushi-themed hand fabricated 14k yellow gold ring is set with Japanese gashapon,
which is highly detailed miniature plastic food.
The gashapon is styled after Tekka Maki (Ahi Tuna).

Limited edition of 300." - artfulhome.com

Remember my Nicole Whisenhunt bib necklace obsession? (still obsessed with them until now) I'm in those I-need-this--insert the name of the object of lust-in-my-life-moments again! The ring is just so me. I love sushi more than any other food!! Like if I would eat only one food everyday for the rest of my life it would be SALMON SUSHI WITH CREAM CHEESE at Red Kimono.. Not a big fan of tuna though.. Too bad, they don't have a SALMON SUSHI ring. If I see one then it's super DESTINY..

But then again, I dont have $850 (40,000++ pesos) to spend on this beautiful artwork so I would have to settle with the real thing instead..=)
Ok, these are not the salmon sushi with cream cheese.. I can't find the picture of it..
But still, SUSHI is LOVE!!

What is your favorite sushi? and why? or do you prefer sashimi?

ps. I miss having red nails. I haven't painted my nails red in 2 years.. Oh yes, the perks of medical internship! andaming bawal..

Simple Joys

Simple things that make me happy:
*this was taken two weeks ago when the sister and I went to the mall..

1. spending time with my sister and eating cheap but delicious desserts:
Less than 100 peso desserts from the food court.
I forgot the name of the store but they sell super delicious desserts all for less than 100 pesos (less than $2)

Currently loving KFC crushers -- love this strawberry yogurt drink that has undissolved milk tidbits.. Super yummy and it's only 75 pesos! (less than $2)
2. window shopping.. I am crushing on this blazer from Mango... love how they mixed the classic look of tweed with a biker jacket silhouette..

3. rediscovering hidden treasures in my closet.
Old shoes..
Perfect for the leopard fever that I'm having lately..=)

I was kinda sad to learn that the Topshop store in Alabang has closed already.. I really hope that they are just relocating to a bigger space.. Will check it out again this weekend.. I do not shop there weekly (Topshop isn't really the cheapest place to shop at) but I love the eye candy and inspirations it gives me just going into that tiny store..
Love this outfit.. It's bordering on boring but me likes it..
Forever 21 shirt; Bayo pants; Janilyn leopard pumps; Zara bag
Justify Full
Thank you for all your lovely and concerned comments about my Typhoon post.. Hopefully everything will turn out better for the other Filipinos who weren't as lucky.. I didn't post last week because I was feeling kinda guilty over the situation. I also felt that last week was not the time to talk about fashion and latest finds as there were more important matters to spend time and energy on. Relief operations are still ongoing so if you want to help you can still do so..=)

PS. I will resume the WHITE TANK DIY SERIES this week. So please check back if you can..=)
